Released in 1950, Cinderella was the film that essentially saved Walt Disney Studios from bankruptcy. It tells the story of, you guessed it, Cinderella, who leads a far-from-perfect life after losing her parents at a young age and is now mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters. In true Disney fashion, she is "rescued" from this life by Prince Charming.
However, before Prince Charming falls for Cinderella, she receives a visit from her Fairy Godmother, who restores her hope. After her wicked stepsisters ruin her pink dress, the Fairy Godmother transforms the remaining rags into a stunning blue gown for the ball.
