With every new Comic-Con, Weta Workshop’s gang of Ring troublemakers grows and grows and grows. 2018 was no exception. We welcomed four newcomers to our team! In true Mini Epic style, all were digitally sculpted here at the Workshop, with a decidedly mischievous attention to detail.
Your eyes don't deceive you: we created our Balrog in an EPIC size, so he can chew up the scenery on your shelf just as well as in the movie.
OUR HISTORY

For over 27 years, Weta Workshop has been creating creatures, characters and entire worlds for film, all from our home in Wellington, New Zealand. For seven years, we helped bring The Lord of the Rings to life, making thousands of props, costumes, weapons, armour and miniatures! We’ve worked on some of the coolest films in the world, like Avatar and King Kong, and even won five Oscars along the way. We’re busy.

OUR COLLECTIBLES

When The Fellowship of the Ring was released in 2001, we didn’t intend to let the world of Middle-earth stop on screen. We set out to bring it to shelves, cupboards and tables around the world! Channeling all that passion and artistry into beautiful statues, these stunning pieces were designed by the same Weta Workshop artists who work on our film projects. And that’s still the case today.

OUR MIDDLE-EARTH MINI-EPICS

15 years later, fans’ insatiable thirst for all things Middle-earth shows no signs of slowing down. That’s what got us here at the Atelier thinking: what else could we do to bring this EPIC world to collectors and movie fans everywhere? The answer: cool, original vinyl collectibles, straight from Middle-earth itself. MINI-EPICS!
