Years later, on a fateful night, the Wayne family is walking down an alley when a lone criminal stops them. Bruce witnesses his parents' murder, but the brutal attack activates his Kryptonian powers, causing him to lose control and burn the criminal with his heat vision. For years after his parents' death, Bruce chose to hide out at Wayne Manor, hating violence, until a group of thieves invaded his home, prompting him to face the world under a new identity: Batman.
