DRAGON BALL - Mini Piggy Bank - Crystal Ball

The Dragon Balls are small, orange-colored spheres, each with a number of stars, ranging from one to seven, that can fit in one's hand.

In the animated series, before the story began, the Dragon Balls were depicted as a single, unique sphere that God had offered to bring hope to humanity. But some men tried to steal the Dragon Ball to use it for evil purposes. God then took the Dragon Ball and divided it into seven spheres, which he sent to seven different locations across the world to make their search much more difficult (db_ep 1).

The dragon Shenron was created by Mr. Popo via a miniature model, and the Almighty breathed life and power into him.

During the first two translations of the manga, "Dragon Ball" was referred to in the masculine gender, but the Perfect Edition established that it is indeed feminine, which is also used in DVD subtitles. Each Dragon Ball bears a name derived from Chinese, literally meaning "starry ball" followed by the corresponding number of stars. However, since the Chinese transcription is too difficult to pronounce, the Japanese transcription of these names has been retained: thus, the famous four-star Dragon Ball, so dear to Son Goku, is named Su Shinchu, derived from the Chinese transcription Si Xing Qiu (starry ball 4). It should be noted that the names of the Dragon Balls were omitted from the French version of the television series and old manga editions. It was only with the translation in the deluxe edition that the balls were transcribed by their names for the first time. The only difference between the intermediate translation and the Perfect Edition is likely the absence of accents in the latter, to avoid as much "Japanization" as possible, which was very present in the intermediate edition, and to obtain a more natural French version for the final edition.

The Dragon Balls glow faintly and emit weak electrical waves, which allowed Bulma to design a radar specifically to detect and locate them: the Dragon Radar, named by the girl herself, and which is the expression subsequently used by all characters to define this special radar.
